"Very poor value for money. First, the check in was problematic because the owner was not around so we didn't know what to do. The property's location is very far from the center of town - 30 minutes by bus! Finally they were refurbishing the property so it felt a bit unsafe to leave the car in the yard for fear of falling objects. "It was really hamming up its Scottishness. Fake suits of armour, shields on the wall, animal skulls everywhere. Just wasn’t classy. The food was ok. They had tried with the vegan option - gnocchi with fried mushrooms - but could have done with some veg and a sauce. They’d run out of Pinot Grigio Blush. "The staff was exceptional. We arrived early before our room was ready and the staff took care of our luggage and directed us to a delightful afternoon tea while we waited. We blew an electrical breaker trying to use an American hairdryer and they promptly got the electricity fixed. They were very flexible with dinner reservations, working around our daytime activities."

"It was a beautiful property with it being very quiet and pretty song birds in the morning. Great location for using the tram as well. The kitchen side of the room was very dark and no plug ins in the bathroom. The room also needed hooks to hang up bags, coats and hook to hang your clothes for steaming. I would stay there again (stayed 8 nights)"

"The hotel its a bit dated but the staff its great, welcoming and friendly. I couldnt have breakfast but the receptionist packed a bag for me. Super kind. The room was clean, with a big window so it was very pleasant in the morning. Bathroom was clean and overall a good size. The location its also great and easy transport to the city centre. I feel safe. I will come back again."
