"My adult daughter and I flew in from Los Angeles and were so happy the bar was still open when we arrived at 9pm. The castle is charming, beautiful and homey feeling. Not stodgy or hoity toity. The beds are SO comfortable! We slept like a rock! Took the bus into Edinburgh the next day. Pick up us right outside the long driveway. You can leave your car at the end of the driveway. We would definitely stay again! "

"Very poor value for money. First, the check in was problematic because the owner was not around so we didn't know what to do. The property's location is very far from the center of town - 30 minutes by bus! Finally they were refurbishing the property so it felt a bit unsafe to leave the car in the yard for fear of falling objects. Worse of all, we were not warned abot said construction work and the builders started working at 8 AM so obviously we weren't able to sleep! We were offered no...

"Property is dated and the bare minimal was provide in terms of amenities (such as no basic seasoning (no salt or black pepper). One garbage bag to last 4 days for 8 guests."

"The staff was exceptional. We arrived early before our room was ready and the staff took care of our luggage and directed us to a delightful afternoon tea while we waited. We blew an electrical breaker trying to use an American hairdryer and they promptly got the electricity fixed. They were very flexible with dinner reservations, working around our daytime activities."

"Quiet location, bus stop is just outside the Pollock Halls grounds. Walking distance to the city. It is an old building, very charming and well maintained. However, there is no lift , staircases are narrow , getting help to bring luggage up can be a bit of of a wait. Overall, always a lovely stay."

"Parking was easy and convenient but overall the hotel is just okay. The carpet in the hallways is worn and torn giving it a rundown look. The pool is nice and there is a steam room and a sauna. The room is okay, clean. Same, a little run down. It is reasonably priced and there is a convenient bus stop. "

Das Hotel steht in einer ruhigen Wohnsiedlung nicht weit vom Stadtzentrum entfernt, sehr gut mit mehreren Bussen zu erreichen. Das Frühstück ließ keine Wünsche offen. Rundum gelungener Aufenthalt."
