"Google Maps took me to an adjacent road, Common Road, which I drove up looking for the guest house. I asked a gardener who said they thought it might be next door. I drove back onto the main road and saw a small lane on the right and a sign propped against the wall showing Church Farm guest house. There was no sign for anyone coming from Abergavenny, like me. "Got a really good price on a room with a gym on site. There was decent parking available and I got parked up near the entrance. I had a room on the ground floor which was close to the gym as well as the entrance. The room was pretty standard but what was required for me. I got shown to the gym which had new equipment and had plenty to choose from. I was then told it was an extra £5 to use it which would have been nice to know as part of booking the stay. I had a great workout at the gym then...

"The Royal George is a lovely pub and Inn. The food is fantastic and all staff could not have been more attentive and helpful. We had an upstairs room with a balcony overlooking the courtyard. Our room was very nicely appointed, spacious and quiet. Free parking was plentiful on the property (front and back lots). There is a small grocery store a ross the street. It is a beautiful area to walk around and a great base for exploring surrounding towns and attractions."

"Strikingly looking hotel. Unfortunately on entering reception, we were greeted with a dirty carpet, which carries on into the bar area with lots of stains. Our room was up 2 flights of stairs, which I wasn't aware of when I booked. Therefore, in this heatwave, the room was an oven. There was a desk fan - 'thank goodness'. Pleased with the room, the layout and amenities. Curtains need seeing to, useless and need blackouts! All the staff were pleasant and hard working. Did not expect a buffet...

"Firstly, it was lovely to stay in an independently owned hotel where the staff clearly have great pride in their hotel and ensuring that guests are happy with their stay. Everyone was charming and helpful. The breakfast was lovely and the evening meal, although not an extensive menu, was freshly prepared and nicely presented. In the evenings this is an extremely popular pub with locals and visitors. The bars were absolutely packed and in the Corn Exchange next door was an AC/DC tribute band. We...

Amazing view from the bedroom we sat and enjoyed the view when the weather was rather unpredictable Good parking Food good standard, restaurant lacked character and atmosphere but the staff were excellent very friendly"
