"This resort has NO AMENITIES..NO HOT TUB, NO HEATED POOL. NO GYM NO ATHLETIC FACILITIES. NO ROOM SERVICE. NO BAR. NO SPA NO LOUNGERS ON THE BEACH. NOTHING!! I'm not sure how this can be called a resort as it's just a motel. This is worse than any Holiday Inn Express in Anytown USA. Yes, it is on the beach but that is its only redeeming quality. We endured our room flooding through the patio door, a fire alarm going off in the middle of the night, a door that wouldn't shut, a broken elevator that beeped all night, and no wifi for an entire day. They charge for basics like a lounger on the beach ($35/day), a resort fee every day ($45 plus taxes), and self parking ($25/day). I have no idea what the resort fee is for because there is no service here. The property is dated -- peeling paint on walls, cracked pool cement from a 1960s pool (tiny btw), and deck chairs used in its lobby. There is absolutely no cache or cool esthetic at all. Just dull, old, outdated, sad. I'm embarrassed for Maui in offering so little to people who come here with high hopes. As for the Maui Brewing Company restaurant on site, it is AWFUL. OVERPRICED AND TASTELESS.You need to drive away from whalers village to get anything worth eating. So really there is no food at this facility. In a nutshell, do not stay at this hotel. It is well past its prime and will disappoint you. "

"Everything about this property was nice and some cases better than expected. The only negative is that on the day we were leaving, at 8:30 in the morning, well before the 11 AM checkout time, while my husband was half dressed in the bathroom and I was half dressed in the kitchen, new guests entered our room with their pass key. They have been given access to the room without the front deck changing the digital card key and without being told check in time is at 4 PM. what a shock to have strangers walking into our room while we’re still there! That’s bad management. The key should’ve been changed. Also the guest should’ve been notified room won’t be ready until four. When we did check out and I told the front desk about this, they said oh I’m sorry. I’ll tell the management."

"We were at the property for the biggest storm in 95 years and they did such a good job of keeping things safe for us and getting the hot tub and pool up and running as soon as possible when the storm settled down. We had a great time. Room was very clean, it was quiet, and we had a beautiful view of the ocean. Would definitely stay here again. "
