"I had a fantastic experience with Public. Air Canada went on strike and only a few us arrived. We booked a suite and they accommodated us to a smaller room and refunded us for the bigger one. Unfortunately the first night, there were a couple fighting the room right next to us. And we told the hotel, they upgraded us to a nicer room the next day and also compensated us for the night before. And I had to stay one extra night and they just let me stay in the same room for a basic room price....

"The only issue we encountered was with the elevators. They were old and very slow. Maintenance was continually working on them. "

"The hotel is in my favorite part of Manhattan. There's nice, quiet streets off of Amsterdam, which is full of restaurants, shops, bars, and more. I love the proximity to Central Park as well. The hotel itself is comfortable, clean, and has a wonderful staff. "

The location of the hotel is great with access to multiple subway lines and very close to the river and South St., Seaport. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive and helpful. "I wanted to be close to my sister's place in the Upper East Side so the location worked for me. It can be a challenge to find a room with 2 beds in Manhattan but we found one here. There was a convenient deli around the corner and the ferry boat was a short walk away on the East River. The 96th St.Subway station was close too. The staff were pleasant and the room was nicely appointed. "
