"Staff could be friendlier. The common areas seem to be overcrowded by people who are not staying at the hotel, which is fine but something to be mindful of. Overall, this hotel was a 10/10. The staff at the rooftop bar could be friendlier. "
"Pros: -location is very convenient
-lots of elevators
-quiet for the most part
-taxis/rickshaws right out front
-gift shop available to purchase snacks etc
-in house restaurant
Cons: -hotel needs TLC ie. toilet flush is weak / shower pressure is weak
- not cleaned throughly between visitors ie. found toothbrush and hair tie on the floor
- elevators are quite ‘wobbly’ and almost sound like they’ll break anytime
-Starbucks is not a ‘real’ Starbucks, very limited options and hours
- request for hour later checkout so kids can sleep before our flight was denied"
"An extremely convenient location with good rooms, amenities, and very friendly staff. The elevators were malfunctioning during my stay which kind of dampened the experience. But overall, in terms of price and location, it’s hard to beat it."
"My stay was okay for the price. I would have rated 5 but the air conditioning wasn’t the best. The entire property runs pretty warm. I had the AC running for hours at the minimum temp and highest fan speed, but it didn’t do much. Hovered around 76 degrees during the day. Luckily I was able to open a window to get fresh air. It’s not a big deal breaker but it is good to know if you’re a hot sleeper."
"Air conditioning in room was horrible, thermostat never went lower than 70 degrees. Bed and pillows not comfortable. Was very disappointed because I’ve been to several Hampton Inns and always had excellent air conditioning and bed / pillows."
"Rooms were very clean and hotels in a good location. Not too noisy but easy access to Penn, MSG, Times Square, Theatre district and Hudson Yards.
Kevin at the front desk was fantastic. Very professional and knowledgable and he put customers at ease.
The hotel is already ageing though. Such a shame. For example, the interior of the elevators are beginning to show signs of wear, though. It’s not surprising, because it is a public space.
Still a great hotel though. I would stay here again , as long as the price is right.
Warning!!!! A junk $81 was added to the bill even though I had made full payment at Hotels.com.
This is irritating, and should have been disclosed or customers should have been forewarned at the time of booking. Hotels.com MUST do better about this."
"The hotel was pretty good in general. Here's the good. Our room on the 18th floor was clean and quiet. We didn't here any other guests, although I can't say for sure if there were guests in any adjacent rooms. We had minimal interaction with the staff but what staff we did interact with were helpful and polite. We did not get breakfast so we can offer no feedback on the food. Now the not so good. The beds were rock hard and uncomfortable. I like a softer bed so this is usually the case for me but my wife likes a harder bed and she complained about the beds being too hard. Also, there was basically no room for items in the bathroom. There were 4 people in our room but no place for 4 people to leave their basic toiletries and no suitable place neither in the bathroom nor the room to hang 4 towels. There was some kind of rack inside the shower but I'm not sure if who ever thought it was a good idea to put it there is aware of how showers work. There was plenty of open wall space in the bathroom for towel hooks but only a single hook on the backside of the bathroom door that already had the hair dryer hanging on it. There was no shelf space to put the hair dryer on so it had to keep taking up some space on the only available hook. When there are only 2 people in the room this issue is not such a big deal but with 4 it is a real hassle."
