"Staff was great. The live music was awesome and our waitress at the restaurant was delightful. The pool was closed and we got no notice before hand. The rooms are tired and in need of some updates, but the beds are very comfortable."

"Neat, clean, cool, mostly quiet (though next to both the airport and freeway), and welcoming. Staff were very friendly. BBQ restaurant in same parking lot was delicious and convenient. Evening reception was limited to chips and salsa and pretzels; your 2 free drinks are 1/2 glass of wine each. Soda was also available. Breakfast was the same each day: waffles, eggs, sausage, biscuits & gravy, cereals, juice, coffee, soda. There was a persistent strong smell of marijuana smoke being piped through the building's air exchange on the end of the building farthest from the lobby during my entire stay; they really need to install better filters on this system, and/or relocate their smoking areas. The same air exchange system (in the hallway) emits a persistent, intermittent mechanical whine, shutting off for 1-2 seconds every 10-15 seconds; this made sleep difficult."

"Stayed at the The Lodge Hotel & Banquets near the airport during a travel emergency, and this was very much a “we just need a room” situation. We had called around to what felt like every hotel in St. Louis trying to find two beds, and this was the only place that had availability. We got in shortly after midnight with a 5am flight, and the front desk staff member working that night was genuinely kind and doing his best with a tough situation — people were still showing up after bookings had closed, and he handled it really well. He even gave me a breakfast coupon knowing we were likely leaving before it started. That said, the hotel itself is pretty rough. Elevators were out, long walk to the room, and the room felt very dated. It smelled like smoke and mildew, and there were people next door yelling and partying until about 4am. Our room faced the indoor pool, and there was a gap in the curtains, so it stayed bright all night. I think I got maybe an hour of sleep. It served its purpose in an emergency, and I was grateful to have a room at all — but this wouldn’t be my first choice unless you’re in a last-minute situation like we were."
