"Have stayed in 4 hotels and B&B’s in Eastbourne and this is by far and away the best one I’ve stayed in. Victorian features, stain glass windows combined with a modern style. Breakfast choices were eggcelent with proper sausages and bacon, the “house” scrambled eggs was delicious. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Parking was a bonus as that area of Eastbourne can be tricky to find spaces to park at night. Would definitely stay at The New England again."

No cleaning service, no sitcom (it was hooottt), no elevator, no service. Staff quite rude. We asked why there was no room no room cleaning. The lady said „our fault“ as we did not put out a sign. "Situated in a lovely area of the Sussex Downs this small country pub provided ideal accommodation for our visit to Glyndbourne. Clean, simple but well appointed accommodation, with a good breakfast provided in the morning. Long Man Best Ale in cask available at the bar, which was a treat."

"Incredible location across from the beach. Room was spacious and had a view of the beach and the pier. These older buildings don’t have AC but a fan was provided as was a small portable fridge. We didn’t try the bar or restaurant so we can’t rate those. We forgot some important items in our room on checkout and the staff were amazing. They contacted us right away when they found the items and offered to have a staff member deliver them to us. Really helpful."

"First room was unusable due to extreme noise all night, and I only got moved the next day after reporting it. The first night was therefore effectively lost and no refund was given. Also concerning: the hotel took full credit card details, including the security code (CVV), and wrote them down on a piece of paper, which is unsafe practice. "We knowingly booked a small room. The room itself was clean and decent enough. It was an extremely hot day so could have done with A/C or at least a better fan than that provided. The bathroom was too tiny to be practical. There was no shelf in the tiny shower and there was not enough room to bend down and pick shower gel off the floor. Overall the price was very reasonable so we were not expecting the world. Staff were friendly, the room was clean, and the bed was comfortable."

"We booked The Relais Cooden beach via Expedia particularly for its location and spa facilities. We had booked the "Cosy double room" because that was all that was left. On arrival we tried to book spa treatments but there were no available bookings during our three night stay. This was disappointing as there was no mention on the Expedia website that you needed to book in advance. Apparently, guests who booked directly with the hotel enjoyed free use of the spa whereas booking through Expedia...

"The staff were amazing from the front desk Darcy and mum to the night porter, who could not do enough for us brilliant. Would recommend to all ages and jealous that we’re not still there. Carnival was great; only thing is if you’re down for this event next year, find parking first early, as it’s at a premiere. Massive shout out again to all. 👍😘"
