"I don’t know if all the rooms are the same but after a very long day and the usual stresses of flying the one thing you need is sleep. Not possible in the room I was in. Everything was great until it was time to switch the lights off. Directly above my bed was the brightest green “Exit” sign I had ever seen. No matter how I tried to position myself in the bed the bright light was beaming into my eyes. It was so bright it lit up the whole room. In the end the only thing I could do to escape it...

"Spent one night before an early flight. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was excellent. No hot eggs, but fresh fruit, bread and the variety was good. Much better than expected! The shuttle was a bit confusing. It parked where cars park for drop off. It was black (in US Holiday Inn shuttles are white) and I never saw the logo, which doesn’t mean it’s not there. Luckily my friend saw it, while I was checking out a different van. It does seem to come pretty often, 15 minutes or so."

Check in was a bit awkward being fully automated and I couldn't get the machine to speak anything other than Spanish eventhough other languages were possible. "Easy to navigate the city from this property. This is the old part of Bilbao and it is lovely. The mistake we made was to shop and tour the newer and trendier part of the city. The old city is a great experience and wonderful shops and restaurants. Anyway, loved the staff and the shower and beds were amazing. The hotel is small and well preserved. It is a little loud from the fifth floor facing the street, but we loved the stay and friendliness of all the people. Would love to come back...
