Bistro staff were amazing, fun and very welcoming. Check in was performed perfectly and it was a very comfortable bed. Only suggestion would be as because there is not a food facility in the actual building it would be nice to have ability to get some fresh milk perhaps in a fridge in the hall? Or a little vending machine with small bottles of vino, chocolate, nuts etc?!
Rooms are lovely within spacious peaceful grounds and was given an upgrade as hotel wasn't full. Check in is at the restaurant, which staff should remember is doing double duty as hotel check in. Breakfast was mediocre and burnt toast was served - shouldn't even have left the kitchen. Subsequently skipped the included breakfast for Elvira's which was much better. Had issues trying to store luggage in COVID times with one staff member happy to accept on early arrival, but another refusing on departure who was quite rude and unsympathetic about it (though later relented). Other staff were cheerful and helpful. Location is good for the Edgcumbe ferry or King Point Marina but otherwise challenging for town, either a long walk or bus ride away.
Spotlessly clean. Room very hot and very thick quilt on bed so didn’t get much sleep. There is a fan in the room and we had to open window. Would have liked a thinner quilt. Shower lovely and tea and coffee facilities great. Excellent that parking cost included.
Amazing room at a great price....
However we ate in the restaurant and the food was not very good... Rubber calamari, side of Cauliflower gratin was just appalling! Any proper chef would have been embarrassed to let it leave the kitchen... The Gratin dauphinois was as bad... in fact it just wasn’t a dauphinois....
Fish overcooked, Main just swimming in butter over cooked vegetables.... Just not worth the money..... Shame because I ate here 2 yrs ago and it was amazing.... So rooms yes... Restaurant? Run! Run very far......
The room was great and very comfortable however checking in and out of the hotel was somewhat of a hassle as reception was located across the way in a restaurant. For my business trip and during a very rainy period that was not convenient, however for personal trip this hotel would be ideal.
I stayed two nights. My room was a good size and comfortable. Tea and coffee was provided, along with filtered water which was appreciated. Breakfast was provided in the restaurant that owns rooms. This isn't the usual hotel buffet (the menu in on the restaurant website). It was freshly cooked and nice.
Small, great decor, we stayed in the rooms located at the top floor of the property; at night the temperature was very hot/ make use of the Dyson fan provided and you’ll be fine.
Location. Brilliant
Lovely place to stay and breakfast was one of best eggs royale ive had. Breakfast ordered off menu and included in price. Much nicer than a city centre chain hotel. Interesting apartments and has history
We really enjoyed our visit. It is difficult to think how it could have been better. A great place in a fabulous setting, with plenty of places close by to go and eat - if you weren’t tempted by eating in Pierre’s. Pierre’s offers a great menu and the food looked great. In the morning we enjoyed a great breakfast, with plenty of choice. Staff were first class and made sure that our visit went without any hitch. The rooms not being in the main building was a really nice touch as well. We will be going back in the future and recommended it to all our friends.
We had a lovely overnight stay at Bistrot Pierre, having a large family room and a separate double room. The rooms were very simplistic in design but provided a high level of comfort and all of our needs were met. The only observation I have that could have been better rests with the restaurant, service was very slow, which was frustrating given that there appeared to be lots of staff milling about. The food choice was good and the quality really nice. We would love to go again in warmer weather.

Modern decor and lovely building- excellent breakfast- friendly staff
The location is lovely. Checking in they use the same station as the restaurant so not very speedy. I went to eat in the restaurant and the staff were not very helpful. The lady that did eventually check me in and showed me to my room was lovely.
Great location and a lovely hotel, attention to detail having stayed 3 nights could be better when cleaning the room. Only replaced with one towel rather than two. Bath mat on the first night but not the following two. Not a quiet hotel, can hear everything from the other rooms, people walking up the stairs etc. Breakfast good! Overall lovely hotel
