The staff were friendly and welcoming. The rooms were individually quaint but could probably benefit from modernising. The area was scenic and quiet. Would see it more as a 3 star hotel instead of 4.

This hotel is a classic example of faded glory. A pleasant location which was near the Nyetimber Vineyard, which was the reason for the stay.
I did send them a message asking advice on local taxi firms when I made the original booking, which was never responded to at all.
The check in was interesting as the young lady stood up to recite her script of things we should and shouldn’t do in the hotel. This included the offer of cooked breakfast (continental is included). Amusingly, if you contact them before your arrival the price is £8, wait until check-in £12.95 and should you change your mind in the morning £20/head!
The room was spacious but in dire need of updating, with several basic maintenance issues.
Fine for one night but rather underwhelming.
Large choice of food for continental breakfast. Cosy feeling clean room

Staff were excellent but there was dust in our room and the bathroom was not very clean. A dirty towel had been left outside the door and the hedge adjacent to our room was overgrown and restricted access. Dinner I'm afraid was not good, I ordered a fillet steak and asked for new potatoes as I was on a low fat diet. When it arrived I had new potatoes, tomatoes and mushrooms covered in oil and two burnt onion ring! But my husband said his dessert was delicious. Breakfast was help yourself and included in the price - a good selection.
We had a nice stay and enjoyed very good dinner with family. Our room was comfortable and had all we amenities we need just thought the room needed a little brightening up .
Staying has been great. Food, we had dinner and breakfast for three days, was excellent.
Really pleasant hospitality team, and comfortable rooms.
We will definitely be staying again.
Thank you - the Rastalls
Fabulous stay. Worth every penny. Room, food, customer service was all outstanding. Enjoyed every minute of our stay. Staff professional and approachable.
This is a really nice hotel and the staff were wonderful. The property is a bit isolated so be prepared to drive if you need anything other than which the hotel can provide.
The restaurant and bar were great as was the complimentary breakfast.
Overall, a very pleasing experience and I can confidently recommend.
This is a wonderful old hotel with lovely old beams and lots of nooks and crannies, room was great, staff were great and food was great.
An ideal base for Arundel and the South Downs.
This hotel was an absolute beauty, it's full of charm and character. We stayed in the room with 4 poster bed and bath. The room was a delight, clean, big and just a joy to stay in.
The hotel has exceeded our expectations. It was truly beautiful and cozy. We felt really welcomed by the staff. I would definitely recommend this to couples and friends who would like a weekend getaway.
Nice quite hotel with friendly staff. Just make sure you understand that the taps in the rooms are Thermostatic, that is the left controls the flow and the right controls the heat. There is a little sign on the mirror but....
Restaurant and food was lovely but the rooms need abit of TLC broken hose on hairdyer ,valve on radiator in bathroom is broken glass shelf fitting in bathroom doesnt look nice ,bin wasnt emptyed and tea and sugar wasnt replemished

Location was very good for visiting family nearby.
Had evening meal with extended family living in local area. Also stayed here a few months ago with the same local relatives. On both occasions we had to wait over two hours before our meals were served! The menu was not very varied and one of us had to have the same burger two nights in a row (we stayed for two nights)
Non of us will be using this hotel again which is a pity because it use to be so good.
