"Room 7 extractor fan not working. Both windows can’t be propped open. No mirror over desk so hairdryer cannot be plugged in near a mirror. Shower floods bathroom floor. All staff tried hard but were overstretched. At breakfast many things were only available if asked for. Evening meals not good value for money. This is not a 4 star hotel. "

"A very pleasant stay at “The Carps”. Very pleasant, helpful, friendly staff. The room was very pleasant with a comfortable bed and roomy shower room. The room layout reflects the history of the property with a couple of shallow steps between the bedroom and shower. We stayed for dinner and were rewarded by a tasty meal. "Large spacious room, very comfortable with great views of the village green. Lots of parking. Bathroom was spotless. Well stocked with tea, coffee and continental breakfast items (The Bell currently doesn’t offer a cooked breakfast). The pub restaurant was epic - fantastic menu with additional ‘specials’ and great desserts. Obviously popular with locals and repeat diners. The pub bar was friendly and a good range of ales on tap.
