"This is not your typical sterile resort hotel, the same the world over, perfectly serviceable, but with no soul.
Banyan Tree Bintan charmed us into loving the place. Yes, the drains may have been a little smelly at times, the doors didn't fit properly and our villa could have done with a refresh, but the privacy, the attention of the staff and the food were all exceptional.
It felt like we were properly in Indonesia even though we were less than an hour ferry ride from Singapore. Our villa had an amazing view and was kept spotlessly clean. Housekeeping, delighted in leaving us towel sculptures and decorating our rooms with flowers. The infinity pools were stunningly beautiful and quiet. The massage at the spa was one of the best I've ever had. Staff were delightful, engaging, nothing was too much trouble and issues were dealt with swiftly. They clearly take pride in doing their best.
We left feeling relaxed and refreshed - exactly what was needed."
