"The Buck Inn is in a prime central location on a picturesque street. I think some of the recent reviews are unfair. Richmond is an expensive town and most places charge £160 to £180 per night. The Buck Inn charges £85 a night for a double and that includes a very good breakfast. The room is a large en-suite with tea/coffee/hot chocolate facilities and a fair sized tv. "We were shown to our room which was a good size with a large bathroom. Fresh milk available from the fridge on the landing for a cuppa. We had dinner here,very tasty chicken and salad on flatbread. Our breakfast was also lovely,freshly prepared and good quality. Cereals,juices and toast available along with a full English or other options. "The hotel was out in the countryside with excellent views over the moors. It was very clean and well cared for. Car parking was good. The room size, bed size, etc was great. One small problem - the room lighting was not very bright during the night time. The food was excellent and the staff were great. It was also a great place for walkers with great access to the countryside. I would recommend it."

"This pub changed hands September 10th 2026. I arrived on the 11th. Met by two large under-controlled ladradors, a strong smell of smoke (remember what that was like?) and a pub with no tap beer , no kitchen or other staff. No food. I left pronto. This review may be unfair to the new owners but my reception was less than impressive and I have my doubts. Caveat emptor."
