"On arrival, after a long journey, my wife and I needed lunch and something to drink. We were sent nearly 1km along a dangerous road without a pavement to a closed restaurant. When I asked for help to get lunch I was told that by an exceptionally rude receptionist “I am not your slave”, and “your lunch is not my problem”. Even after explaining that my wife was ill, the rude receptionist continued to argue with me a lecture me on ‘local customs’. However, the other staff at the hotel could not have been nicer and one arranged for a taxi to take us to an open restaurant. In fairness the hotel offered us a free evening meal, and all the other staff we encountered were very kind, helpful and pleasant. Whilst we appreciated the free meal, we are yet to receive an apology and there’s nothing from the hotel’s management to suggest that other guests arriving at the hotel in the afternoon would receive any better treatment than us. To get the most from a stay at this hotel, and get food and drink outside designated times, guests will need a car. Despite the exceptionally rude receptionist, the pool, food, and other staff enabled us to have a good time."
"One of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed at. Should be at the price we paid. Great amenities. Pool area n hot tub gorgeous. One thing I didn’t like was room service food. It was ok we did it twice n twice we barely ate the food. Rooms were impeccable and beautiful views from our balcony terrace. Staff very nice and helpful."
"Charming and memorable stay with Dr Daniele and Casa Nini. Dr Daniele was utterly charming and helpful, from directing us into the car park to making dinner reservations (trust him! The food and views at Sottovento are amazing!).
The morning of our departure he served a hearty continental breakfast and directed us to a local hike. He was a large part of our remarkable experience and I plan to return!"
