"Beautiful pub with rooms and staff were outstanding. Our rooms were really well appointed and clean. The food was good but we were a little underwhelmed with our meals. Salmon main dish was dripping in very salty miso and soy sauce. Restaurant was v busy and we were advised that there could be a wait for food. Breakfasts were fantastic though we had to wait a ridiculously long time for our food on the second morning. Only one person serving and one chef creates quite a problem! All in all we...

"This is a 17th century coaching inn, which makes it a wonderful place to stay. The staff, especially the reception, were excellent and the room was clean. Yes, it's above a pub so it's not going to be super quiet until after it closes, but there was more noise from adjacent rooms than the pub. "Our rooms looked nothing like the photo’s on here. The carpets had huge stains on them and the furniture was dated and beat up. Our window would not open and the frame was rotting. Our bathroom was dark and the shower would sporadically turn burning hot to freezing cold. The women’s toilets in the bar area had multiple out of order signs on the doors and the one I was able to use had a huge hole in the wall where tiles were missing and broken.
