"My Wife and I had an excellent stay at the Catalonia Hotel Catedral in Barcelona. Right in the heart of the Gothic Quarter, within walking distance of the Cathedral, La Rambla, great restaurants, shops, and major attractions. It made exploring the city incredibly easy and enjoyable. The hotel itself is modern, clean, and very well maintained. "Centrally located to beautiful gothic district. Clean rooms, friendly staff. Would have given it a fifth star had the staff actually been more helpful explaining - upon arrival - the European “way” of accessing electricity int the room and controlling the heat and air. We received no help when calling and slept in a hot room for a night. Be aware of minimal plugs…even for converters/adapters. No room on bathroom for toiletries. Shower was good."

"We booked this property because it had a pool but the day before check in they let us know that the pool was not available but that we could use the pool at other properties, one of which was 30 mins away. I asked if they could move the booking to these other locations but they did not have availability. I feel a discount should be offered in this instance, without a car in a foreign city it’s not convenient to travel to another location for the pool. I will also say that it should be noted...

"Peres, Adam, Alfredo and Kevin were so nice and welcoming as were the other staff members. The location were perfect and I would stay here again in a heartbeat. The rooms were spotless and quiet. The room darkening shades were perfect. We did not have the buffet, but I’m sure it was excellent. The water pressure was very good and the toiletries were quite nice. I liked the sliding door separating the bedroom from the washroom area. "

"Property is uniquely situated in a narrow alley within the Roman wall. What sets the Mercer apart is the exceptional staff who are eager to meet your every need. The furnishings and decor are upscale and very modern. Some of the lounge furniture is too low for older couples, and the flexibility of the shower floor posed some difficulties for me with my mobility issues, but the other amenities more than compensate for any minor irritations. Lovely place to stay. Happy to highly recommend"
