The cliffs just across from UC San Diego along the trail of the Scripps coastal reserve provide what I consider to be the best sunset viewing point in San Diego. Oftentimes from the cliffs (which overlook blacks beach to the right and the Scripps pier to the left) I can see dolphins playing near shore, surfers catching waves, or a paraglider floating into the sunset. This place is what summer evenings are all about.
