"When we arrived we were told our room was no longer available due to a 'maintenance issue' so had to book somewhere else at the last minute. The lady that we spoke to was nice and did say they had tried to contact us during the day about the situation. However, checking the message we found in Expedia, it was only sent an hour before we arrived late afternoon. Not helpful when you are driving long distance. Might be a one off but, obviously, have to score the hotel low in this instance."

"Pleasant stay at the Seaton Lane Inn with a little hiccup of no towels in the room on arrival but was remedied straightaway. Check in was quick and easy although steep stairs to the upper level of the Inn rooms. May be a little difficult for older people to negotiate these. Had food in the restraunt one night and enjoyed the steak which was cooked as asked and the service was also good from the waiter. Check out was also quick and easy so a very good stay at a good hotel."

"We chose this hotel because of its countryside location and were looking forward to a quiet break outside of Durham City Centre for a weekend trip. Unfortunately, a large event took place during our stay and we were not informed in advance, despite being told that guests are usually notified when such events are taking place when I raised the issue. "My private room was clean and equipped with a nice premium range of toiletries. Free tee, coffee and hot chocolate station was a nice touch too, and reception staff kindly kept some milk for me in the fridge."

"I have used this hotel very often in the past But I was shocked how there Standards have dropped. The flood was very poor the service very poor.The lack of singning for there different areas none existent. The room very nice for normal users but for some disabled like me it was a night mare. There was a lack handrails in the shower the shower was fixed and did not detach from the fitted so was to high, Lack of places to put soap bags had to put them on the floor. "Check in was quick and easy. Staff were helpful and polite, even moved me from a room in the inn to an annexe room so I could be away from noise from bar. Also had a very good breakfast which is extra but excellent value for money. Definitely recommend it hotel and breakfast."

The shower over the bath could do with upgrading The grounds are beautiful and although it was very busy with two weddings and and abundance of golfers there was plenty of staff to accommodate the demand.
