The Falcon Manor is a nice hotel set within some of the most beautiful contryside in the uk. From the outside it's a great looking place, a very grand manor house.
When we entered we were greeted by a lovely log burning fire which warmed us up nicely! All the staff we encountered during our stay were friendly and helpful, even if the check-in introduction was a little short and uninformative.
The hotel and room itself was decorated very nicely, with good quality furnishings etc. We stayed in the turret suite, which was a bit smaller than expected but still very nice. Nowhere online do the photos show it, but there is a full modern bathroom (with toilet, sink and walk-in shower), as well as the romantic in-room bathtub.
I would stay here again but there were a few bits that weren't quite up to the standard I would expect from a £150 a night room - falcon manor management, please take this as constructive criticism:
1) No phone in the room - ok nobody uses them for calls anymore but a few things the room were missing, I had to get dressed and go downstairs and ask rather than call and staff bring them up.
2) This is supposed to be a 4 or 5 star hotel, please get rid of the old in-room hotel kettle and put in a nespresso machine.
3) No sweeteners in the room, not great for my diabetic wife.
4) Was told that cappucino wasn't supposed to be served at breakfast but they'll do one anyway. Come on....
5) Wi-fi in room was non-existent - that's really poor!
