Loved this hotel, a perfect room that accommodated all our needs. ( my husband has mobility issues) .Excellent dinner in the restaurant and very nice breakfast choices. Staff could not be more helpful. I was concerned about parking but needn’t of worried, free overnight parking outside the hotel and nearby parking behind Morrisons during the day, easily paid for on my ‘just park’ app which reception helped with and refunded. Room as well as being of luxury proportions had Chrystal glasses, bottled water, tea, proper soap dispensers etc. Could not fault this visit. Worth every penny!
Lovely spacious public rooms. Our bedroom was also very large and comfortable, and our bathroom completely up to date with wonderful shower.
Only one negative comment: despite it being mid winter, there was no fire in the woodburner in the bar. That was a great shame.
But overall we had a very pleasant stay. Staff are very good.
I asked for a top floor room but was given one on the stairs. Although the room was very comfortable, the bed, bedding and pillows were great, I was woken both mornings at 6 am by ignoramuses stomping down the stairs. However, breakfast was superb and the bar very welcoming. On day two, someone had been in my room to open the window. They took the blanket off my bed and left it in a heap on the floor but did nothing else. Later on, at around 4pm, I was in the bathroom and a woman claiming to be house keeping just let herself into my room. Very odd. She said she knocked but I didn’t hear her but I could hear her moving about in the room which alerted me. Overall, not sure my room was worth the money. A shame as I am down there regularly from now on and would have used this hotel.
Period property in good condition and nicely warm throughout in a cold week. Bar is reasonable but more random “boutique “ selection of booze rather than the regular stalwarts and tends to close early. Overall satisfactory and certainly the best in the area of the ones I’ve been in. The biggest issue is the lack of good restaurants in the local area
Great service, every member of staff was helpful, knowledgeable, happy and attentive. We were so impressed with them. Our evening meal was fabulous. Too quality. They have an excellent chef, who elevated a dish of heritage carrots into something amazing. Shaftesbury is so pretty, like stepping back in time. We will return!
Lovely night’s stop over on way to London. Excellent facilities and friendly staff. Our room was huge, comfortable bed and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was freshly cooked to order.
Great stay at the Grosvenor Arms in Shaftesbury. Big room with a very comfy bed and a good size bathroom. Service was excellent and all our needs/requests were catered for. Will definitely visit again.
All the staff were super friendly and helpful. The room was perfect with a comfortable double bed and the bathroom was immaculate with an amazing power shower.
Lovely old building with loads of character. Staff couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful. The food served in the restaurant is of an exceptional standard.
A welcoming and comfortable hotel with large rooms and generous reception areas. It is in the centre of the town and very convenient for the local sights. Breakfast and dinner were very good.
