"Great pod hotel!
Some insight for Americans looking to try it out. It mostly caters to Asian / international clientele, which is where pod hotels originated. That being said, very welcoming.
The pod itself is in a gender segregated room. Each room has a door code so only those in your area can access. The privacy door in pod is a pull down screen, so you can hear anything from the other pods. That being said, my section was absolutely silent though all pods were occupied.

"Our first family trip to Hawaii and we loved everything about the hotel! There was nothing we did not like about it. Wonderful staff! Our stay was very welcoming. The rooftop pool and bar was amazing! Great bartender as well *sorry can’t remember her name* I would definitely recommend to anyone including friends and family. Will return back and stay here again."

"We were extremely pleased with our stay in AC by Marriott Hotel Honolulu. The hotel is located in a very good location if you are going on a cruise. It was a 20 minutes walk to the pier 2 cruise terminal from hotel. The hotel was not in a congested area. It was a quiet hotel and we got a good nights sleep, The bed was very comfortable and the air conditioner got the room cool. The area around hotel and the hotel itself was very clean. The staff was so friendly and helpful. "
