Our room was a bit dated and lacked enough space and storage to be comfortable; the room could be reimagined. The room light controls were clunky and the entertainment system could use an upgrade. Restaurant and bar service were not always consistently excellent. For the price point, my expectations were a bit higher."

"Our stay at CITADINES was great! The hotel is located on a quiet street conveniently located within walking distance to everything. The free coffee and water was a fantastic feature. Beautiful lobby area. The only issue we had was trying to find the entrance when we arrived which is located in a corridor. Otherwise everything about our stay was great."

"This hotel advertises and prices itself like a boutique hotel, but I would say it’s more like a hostel where you all have private rooms. I just think you can get more for your buck in Amsterdam. We upgraded to their rooftop room, which was supposed to be larger than the other rooms on other floors. (According to the dimensions advertised). But we still ended up in a shoebox of a room, that was the exact size as our friends double inside room two floors below. Also a warning, that the double...

"Really mediocre hotel priced like an upscale lodging. Toilet ran, sink drain was clogged, had to insist on a change of towels. Many steep steps from street to front door. Breakfast was very good and location excellent. Many better choices available in Amsterdam."

"The ladies who helped us at check in were fantastic, very friendly. Location is great, our room was excellent. Large room for four adults. We had tons of space for our luggage and my mom’s mobility scooter. Great view from our room. It was expensive but worth it for the space and location. My only complaint was the bartender in the bar on site. He was incredibly rude to us, we did not even stay for a drink."

"We stayed in a Deluxe Room the Mandarin Oriental Conservatorium for 5 nights, and we were disappointed. They put us on a floor that was undergoing renovations (our hallway was covered in painting tape and had unfinished light fixtures), and our room had non-functional ventilation and sparse seemingly unfinished decoration. Our room also had no view (despite advertising a city view) and the bathroom was smaller than advertised. We raised all of this after one night, and mid-way through our stay...
