"The building is tired and needs a lot of TLC but all the staff were expectional and couldn't do enough. Easy parking and good location. Room was 'dated' but functional and clean, with a bath (bonus!) and very comfy firm beds. We paid for breakfast and said it would be 10.45 before we arrived, but were there by 10.35 in the end (Breakfast is served until 11am). We had to ask for the food to be replenished and at first was told there were no more pastries (essential park of breakfast) but then...

"The few lovely staff are coping with a sadly run down building which must have been magnificent in its day. There is no longer a restaurant or bar and the drive has huge poorly filled pot holes. Such a shame"

"A small privately owned hotel, good situation for a visit to Saltaire. Many people arrived by train which was a short walk away. The owner was very helpful, even writing us a map to Saltaire."

"We were visiting for a gig at Piece Hall and are so glad we chose to stay at this absolutely wonderful hotel on the outskirts of Halifax. From the moment we arrived the staff were warm, polite and helpful and this continued for the duration of our stay. As it was such a nice day, we sat in the beautiful garden and enjoyed drinks and food from the bar menu before heading into town for our concert. . Breakfast (extra) was also very good indeed. It’s not the cheapest hotel, and not the most fancy...

"Very nice and helpful staff. A parking garage and some shops and restaurants were in immediate vicinity. The hotel is 20-25mins walking distance from Halifax train station, be advised though that the entire walk is uphill since the station is the lowest point of the city. The city itself is very accessible from the hotel with most shops and locations just a few minutes away. Very decently sized rooms with room for your luggage without feeling cramped in."

"Beautiful property. We really enjoyed our stay here, it was so cosy, clean & well looked after. The hosts were welcoming and friendly, they made us feel very at home and were very attentive throughout our time. Great location and a short 5 minute drive to Haworth. "We only stayed for one night whilst attending a rugby league match at Odsal stadium just a 15 minute walk away. It was ideal for this and the first time we had stayed and we'd definitely stay again. Other than the room the only facilities we used were the bar for a light meal and drinks which was ok."

"We had Heritage Room 4 for a two night stay. Very spacious room and large ensuite. Lots of windows, so lots of fresh air and light. Very clean and comfortable. Bar and restaurant were of a very high standard too. Friendly/polite staff, good range of drinks options and the food was superb. Absolutely recommend this venue for a stay."

"Room basic but clean. Facilities are slightly tired but adequate. The only slight complaint was that the shower was not much more than a dribble but the water was warm. Staff helpful and friendly. Note: Hebden Bridge is hilly and the hostel is up the hill from the town centre. It is not that far and should not put you off using the hostel"
