"Reception not manned on arrival, did not realise that door card and check in card was left on table for self service. Basic hotel with English Breakfast /Toast/Yoghurt included in the price. Large car park. Ideal location to attend a party in Mansfield. Not planned to use the restaurant but believe it was closed during our stay. Bar also looked closed but think we were told it was available if required. I would stay again if I needed to stay overnight in the area."

"Staff were so friendly and helpful. Our room was spotless. Could do with a hook or a in the bathroom to hang towels on. Food in restaurant was amazing and the mini bar in the hotel was perfect. Would definitely stay again and recommend to anyone"

"Great location. Ideal location for Southwell racecourse. 15 minute leisurely stroll to the racecourse from the accommodation. Our overnight stay was great from start to finish - easy check in, free car parking, clean tidy and comfortable room. Bathroom, including shower, was clean and modern. The sink was on the small side. Good value for money."

"The Hex Hotel is a Basic hotel on the luxury side. What I mean is there are no frills but it is a great place to stay particular when visiting the Yorkshire Wildlife park. It makes the stay very pleasant being able to relax after your visit or before your visit to the park. Two nights is ideal visiting the YWP in the middle. "Staff here are where very helpful we booked a family room when arriving into our room there was only a double bed and one single for a family of 4 2 adults and 2 children. The staff were very quick to help and re arranged us a new room without hesitation. We had travelled a lot the day of staying. Decided to eat at the hotel was disappointed that there wasn’t a children menu for our children to pick from. Couldn’t fault the food was absolutely Devine for dinner and breakfast was lovely to all...

I phoned to say that I would be late for final check in (10pm) and Alexandra, the lovely lady on the front desk, made sure I was checked in dignity and made me feel so safe about arriving late.
