"Lovely hotel and staff breakfast excellent "

"We had booked a queen bed in the property via Expedia and had received confirmation from them. However when we arrived the hotel had no record of the booking and were told there was no longer any queen rooms available. Therefore we had to take a twin. The staff were extremely helpful and gave us a discount for use in the dining. However we will not be using Expedia again. We have no complaints about the hotel. "We were really disappointed on arrival as the hotel was covered in scaffolding and the entrance looked much more like a 1970s multi-storey carpark than a 4* hotel. The stairs (the lift was out of order), reception area and room were very dated. The soundproofing in the bathroom was non-existent (my wife could hear everything next door). Having said that the beds were comfortable, the staff were friendly and the breakfast was ok."

"Really enjoyed our little overnighter here. Absolutely stunning building. Nice size room with high ceiling in gorgeous Tudor style. Bed comfy nice bedding. Read some bad reviews but was pleasantly surprised. Yes the carpet is a little old and the chair by the window but it’s all part of the charm. Large modern bathroom. Only negative was a little dust on the windowsills nothing to ruin a lovely comfy night sleep and lovely staff at check in too"

"Me and a friend stayed here for the night for my 40th birthday. We were greeted by Amelia who was fantastic, very friendly and accommodating. Our stay was lovely the location perfect and generally the staff were great. There was a very abrupt gentleman at front office in the morning but everyone else including the house keeping ladies were great. We had a treatment there and this was great too :) thank you "
