"The Duke of Edinburgh hotel was a gem. I don’t know the history of the building but it’s older; that doesn't mean bad. They have done a great job of renovating the rooms, or at least ours was. It was one of the best rooms we’ve had on our trip. We also had dinner and a breakfast while there and the food at the restaurant/pub was excellent. It’s a short walk from the train station and I would recommend it for your stay."

"The property exceeded my expectation. It's really cozy and I absolutely enjoyed the bowl of goodies. Could do with more utensils, but overall, I'd highly recommend."

"Clean room, comfy bed and a good shower. Hallways could have done with a quick vac. Missed second day breakfast but still enough left."

"Overall, a pleasant stay, although there were a few areas that could certainly be improved. Parking was convenient, the Wi-Fi was reliable, and the shower was very good. The bed was also comfortable, which made for a good night’s sleep. However, the cleanliness of the room was disappointing, particularly the carpet, which was covered in stains. "Very clean, modern and well maintained. Good central location. Would stay here again. Recommend ear plugs as the shift work traffic can be noisy."

"Room was tired and bed uncomfortable. Car park had no lighting which made it difficult to navigate in the dark."

"The host cancelled my booking the day before I was due to book in because I use a walking stick and the room was on the middle floor. When I made the booking there was no mention on the booking page about about difficulties I may have. The reason given was not enough room on the expedia page. I was also refused a refund, which I find very disappointing as it was the host who cancelled my booking, not myself. Very disappointed allround."

"Good property Ideal location Fabulous garden Pity other guests flick cig stumps about Been before def go again"

"Idea for a single person exploring the south-western Lake District."

"Clean room good value"

"Tienen el personal mas amable, son muy atentos y agradables. Por supuesto volvería. Tomen enc uenta el ruido del fin de semana, es mucho pero de domingo a jueves es nulo. El lugar es limpio y cómodo, recibes lo que pagas , el servicio es extraordinario."

"I don’t think I’ve ever had an en-suite where the cold water in the sink came out warm and the water in the shower ran cold no matter which way you turned the tap."
