"Friendly welcome at reception and check in was good. Staff were all polite and friendly. The bar area is decent and they have sky sports on the big tv. Decor and furniture in the room was a bit dated but beds were comfortable. Previous guest must have been a smoker as the room smelled of stale smoke and the smoke detector had been covered by a plastic bag. It was raining and an overflow pipe seemed to be splashing water on to the flat roof by the window all night which was annoying. Reported this to receptionist who did apologise and will sort out. Plenty of parking for £10 and 3 EV chargers available. Easy walk into the city centre and some good bars by the river. Overall not a great stay for the price charged but maybe I just got unlucky with the room I was given."

"It’s very handily placed for the arena, football and city centre, the train station is a 10 minute walk. The hotel has its own parking but will try to charge £15 for the privilege, it’s worth a prior phone call to get ‘complimentary’ parking. The public areas are nice and clean but the rooms are a little tired and the bathroom could do with a refurb. The balconies overlooking the Tyne are nice. Breakfast was a bit of a shambles as juices, coffee and hot buffet all ran out and left people queueing. Also if you have children in your party this info won’t be passed to the breakfast staff so they’ll not have them on your list. Could be better overall but okay and at the right price I would go back."

"Value for money with the swimming pool included in the price. Definitely will be staying again when I come up to watch the mighty Newcastle play. The gin bar is lovely and has live sports. "

"Good location. Quite expensive for such a Small room. very hot. No a/c and windows couldn’t be opened. The hairdryer was coated in a sticky substance. I won’t be returning"

"This being our third visit to this hotel the rooms were quite good, our bed was tired, towels were worn, bathroom facilities were also tired, a good refurb would be the order of the day. It's a shame we only found out about the reduced breakfast price as well were checking out. We shall no doubt return, as this hotel is smack right where you want to be."
