"The bed was more comfortable than most hotel chains, and we enjoyed drinks around the fire table in the courtyard with friends. For the price, I would definitely recommend it because it is comfortable and clean. We were a bit chilly at night in July, so a thicker blanket would’ve been welcomed, but we just adjusted the thermostat and were fine. The location was better than expected and made it easy to visit both Monterey and Carmel."

"There is no air conditioning in the rooms. Even though we knew it, we did know it would get so stuffy in the middle of the night. So we did not get a good night's sleep. After we open the fan and the patio door for the 2nd night, it was much better.
The breakfast area is a bit cramped."

"The hotel was fantastic and we stayed here for 4 nights. The continental breakfast was some of the best I have had from a hotel. The coffee machines are available 24/7 and grinds and brews fresh coffee. We had a room with two king beds which is hard to find, but we appreciated very much. Rooms were comfortable and clean. The only complaint I have is the laundry room only had one washer and dryer that took $6 in quarters and closed at night."

"This is as 2 star as a 2 star hotel gets. 1960s motel vibe with very few updates. Cramped rooms, old sheets and towels, plastic cups, uncomfortable pillows. It’s all very basic. You get what you pay for, right? And Monterey is expensive so you either have to book a two night minimum or pay $600+/night. The other one night option is to stay in these charmless motels on Munras. And to leave as soon as you can the next morning. On the positive side, the doors do lock. And the bathroom was clean....
