"Amazing experience to stay in a castle. We stayed in the Radcliffe Suite, so spacious and grand. The bathroom was huge! With a sauna! The bed was super comfy. My husband and I had dinner from the fine dining menu and our son was able to order from the relaxed dining menu which was great. "Pub was dated, and our room had a shower/toilet in a pod, so read the small print when booking. The pod was extremely small with little room to manoeuvre and the extractor fan did not work. Also music could be heard in our room from downstairs. The positive is the shower was warm, the staff extremely friendly and the breakfast good. Also the local clientele were warm, friendly and welcoming"

"Got there at 8:15pm booked in and got shown to our rooms, once we put our stuff down we went down stairs to get a drink and order some food, we ordered our drink and asked for menus, we were told it had been too busy and we couldn’t get food. After a moan they apologised and brought us menus we ordered for a chicken burger and two steak pies. After an hour to food came out the chicken in the burger was dry but edible, the same can’t be said for the pies both pies smelt horrible once opened and...

"We booked this at the last minute as we were travelling up to the Scottish borders and wanted to break the journey due to the extreme heat. We arrived very late (about 11pm) but we had called the hotel in advance and one of the staff agreed to wait for us. When we did arrive we were greeted with a very warm welcome. Our one regret is that we didn't have time to make use of the observatory (yes you read that right!) All staff very friendly and helpful and loved the breakfast"
