"Beautiful location. Ideally situated for the South West Coastal Path. Lovely pub atmosphere with a good restaurant. Local beer. Staff were helpful on site. Parking. Room was cosy but had everything that you needed. Lovely shower."

"The room was basically dirty & scruffy. Linen & towels ok but the floor needed vacuuming & bathroom floor around skirting looked like had never been cleaned. Staff seemed stretched & too busy, most of the dinner menu was sold out & my partners poached eggs on toast resembled hard boiled eggs on toast as overdone. The pub is in a great location & my overall stay was not awful but should have been better. The room was only £65 so wasn't expecting the Ritz but expected a clean room without flaking...

"For one night as a pass through to home, it was ok. But we will not be back. Pros- child friendly, suite was a good size, friendly owner. The bed was comfy and there is a Roku to be able to get a lot of channels. Breakfast was decent. Although it’s between 8-9 which was a bit early for us after a long day and then having to go looking for dinner and getting the kids settled. Trying to get them up for breakfast was hard. Cons- dog wee’s on the floor and even when told, it’s not even covered....

"We were only there one night and didn’t eat there in the evening but breakfast was excellent. Room was spacious with excellent open plan bathroom facilities. Pleasant walk into Sidmouth ( approx 3.5 ) miles round trip Ticked all the boxes for what we needed. Would stay again"

"A great stop over on the way to Cornwall A nice welcome on arrival and we found our booking upgraded to a larger room. A good selection of pies for dinner and fresh pastries and coffee for breakfast. Fresh coffee and cafetière in the room was a nice touch."

"We had a lovely stay whilst visiting wookey hole. Lovely room, it was an ajoining room so great for families. Comfy big bed and great home cooked breakfast. Would defo stay again"

"No dislikes with anything at the Dukes and always love staying there. Bed superbly comfortable. One little niggle not quite ready for winter duvets but forgot to ask for something lighter"
