"I had a great stay as a solo traveller for work; I had a slight issue before I was due to arrive but the team were brilliant and sorted it for me. The room was great and looks recently renovated, and the bar downstairs was perfect for a drink and evening meal. I'll certainly stay again when im next in Whitby."

The school group were noisy running & jumping in the room above but when I went to report it to reception it immediately fell silent and was quiet all night - so a great night's sleep 😴 would have been nice to have had a chair in the room - there was a cube that had to serve as a bedside table / seat. Great location adjacent to abbey and minutes from the 199 steps and a fab brewery for beer & pizza. Lovely gardens Spacious lounge & conservatory. Friendly helpful staff Bonus free ticket to abbey. Would definitley stay again 😀"

"Lovely little boutique hotel run by super friendly hosts. The rooms are quite something and the place is chock full of eccentric vintage finds, it has real character. We had a deep, luxurious bath in our room and the vintage glass bottle of bubble bath was a nice touch. We had the breakfast (veggie continental) one morning and it was delicious, lots of fresh little picky bits to eat and drink. It’s up on the cliffs with a lovely view of the abbey but still an easy walk into town. Just sad we didn’t get to try the cocktail bar!"

"I stayed in the Penthouse Apartment for a one night stay to meet up with friends. The apartment is well-laid out - perfect for a single-traveller or a couple. The location is right in the heart of the historic town centre, so all the recommended sights of Whitby are within walking distance to you. The train station is a 5-10 minute walk away across the swing bridge, so it's an ideal location if you're travelling via that method. The chatter from the pub on the corner across from the apartments can reach up to the penthouse, particularly after closing time. I stayed on a Saturday night in August with decent weather, so the town was busy that night and I would imagine that it would be a lot quieter during the week or out-of-season. Overall though, it wasn't too bad and I still managed to get to sleep - the bed was comfortable too, which helped! I would definitely recommend staying here. The check-in & out process is straightforward, with detailed communication from the proprietors. The apartment is smart & modern, with a decent sized shower and kitchen facilities if you wanted to eat in. I would look to stay here again."
