"Lovely setting, great welcome, food superb, staff friendly and helpful We had the suite (kingfisher) which was an excellent room except for a radiator being stuck on in the bathroom. The lady in charge (lovely lass) managed to get it sorted as the outside temp was up in the 30’s!!! If I have any criticism of the room, a little use of bleach would have gone a long way but please don’t let that put you off. The place is very very good. "Did not have breakfast, but evening meal was good. Room was okay but for the three nights we stayed we didn’t get bed made or tea/coffee replenished or the small bin emptied. As for the noise from people using rooms above us it was a nightmare (do not choose room 3) Was not impressed "

"Very comfortable one night stay precruise. Room was quiet, clean and comfortable. Breakfast next morning had a nice selection of hot and cold food. Staff were very friendly also. Only a 10 minute walk to gate 8, easy with a carry on and personal bag. I would stay there again if ever in Southampton."

"Firstly I booked through expedia who I thought would be competitive, however I paid £70 more than apparently booking direct as got an invoice pushed through my door on the morning of checkout - they said the I paid £70 more because I booked through expedia and that was their commission. The hotel was perfect location, but very dated and old fashioned. The bar was expensive and the spa area was massively overpriced for what it was"

"The room was super small, but the bathroom was decent size with a great shower. We had to store our luggage downstairs at the desk as only our carry ons could fit comfortably on the room. The breakfast that came with the room was the best we have ever encountered. We could order off the menu which had a good selection w/ great coffee and fabulous service!"

"House keeping was good. Room was small and pretty tired. Bath hand basin sink plug broken and toilet seat would not stay up. Staff polite but not very customer focused. Just did their job! Still, it was convenient to the mall for shopping. A little to far to walk to the Horizon cruise terminal with any luggage, but the concierge hooked us up with a taxi."
