"Bedroom really needs updating and TLC. Carpet was marked and mattress saggy and uncomfortable. Bath panel needs repainting. Very weird door in bedroom that when opened had a duvet hanging between our door and the one immediately behind. Beautiful old building but difficult to shut windows and paint peeling. "For the price point it is a good value stay. Room was basic, but bed was comfy and bedding clean. Slightly wiffy smell from the sink, shared bathroom shower needs a scientific degree to get the temperature at Goldilocks level because a micro amount of movement on the control meant Artic cold or Molten Lava hot! Breakfast was OK, but running out of sausages is a basic stock issue! All staff were very polite, and having the 24 hr reception meant my key was safe. I would stay again. 👍"

"Beautiful old building with great views. Heck of a climb to the top floor where our rooms were. No lifts and no help with bags. The mattresses were horrible - on all 3 beds. Afraid to speak with manager who checked us in - not friendly at all. Barked at my daughter when she asked for WIFI password (which was not given to us on registration). It was written on a piece of paper at his desk and she was told to read it herself. She thought it was funny how grumpy he was - but I was less than...
