Nice place and value for money
Staff very friendly nice room and evening meal but would be too rate if they serve breakfast 👍

The whole place was tied and dirty. Even the bath water ran brown dirty water. Terrible place, stay away at all cost. Find somewhere else. You have been warned.

Hotel was great, real character building, bit about its history eould be good as would couple of chairs in bedroom. Excallent stay on very wet day

Stopped overnight on route to Southampton, nice spot, hotel was clean and tidy.

Not happy
The feedback is not a reflection of the staff, apparently the property has changed hands and the new owner was not present. There was no hot water apart from the electric shower. The room had not been cleaned thoroughly. The cups had coffee marks on the outside of them. The room was cold on arrival, the heating was not on whilst we were in the room, it was cold in the morning too. It was 0 degrees that night so it was very cold. There was a small amount of toilet roll, like an 1/8 of a roll. There was a squirrel or some rodent in the roof above our room that was scurrying about making a fair bit of noise. Overall not a great experience.

Staff were friendly and helpful, but as the meals service was none existent because manager and Chef has quit. Although the drinks from the bar were OK and the bed was comfortable, there were no around the morning we left. We could not turn of the central heating radiator in the room that morning and the room was cold as a consequence

Awful - don’t use
Kitchen closed as no chef. Not mentioned at booking. Extremely dirty And untidy at check in. Room was large but very outdated and musty. Not even pillow cases on the pillows. The pictures on website do not reflect reality.

A really poor hotel. Shower didn't work. Confusion at check in. Lack of food and drinks available on the menu.

We were disappointed, as the tv wasn’t working, we did inform the staff, somebody came to re-tune but still was not right. Also breakfast was disappointing, as there wasn’t a lot of choice, just cereal & toast , & coffee was tasteless!

We stayed for 1 night. It was clean and a generous size room, it could do with some updating. Staff were friendly and food was lovely.

Lovely room and very helpful staff. Enjoyable food
Lovely annex family room. Smelt a little damp or musty would be my only comment. The shower gel provided in the shower needed refilling - but we bought our own so no issues. Really enjoyed our stay over night. Very helpful staff and great food. Would I stay again - Yes.

Where do I start....
- No way of checking in after 9pm - Rooms were uncomfortably hot - No fans - No irons - No hangers - No daily cleaning service - Food is microwaved and chips deep fried about 10 times. - No atmosphere - Staff were OK not too much interaction - Washroom was very cramped - Doorframes are less than 6ft in height (Banged head twice ha) - No breakfast served until 8 possibly as I had to leave at half 7 for work, like most people. I would recommend the Hunters Lodge Inn which is just up the road, cheaper, breakfast served early, fan in rooms, iron in rooms, food is tremendous, good atmosphere, staff very friendly, daily cleaning.... Pretty much the opposite to this Bedsit.

Kitchen closing time a nightmare
arrived at 8.10 pm to be told the kitchen closes at 8... I had driven for five hours and the landlady was rather curt when I asked why it didn’t say anything about that on hotel.com site. They said they weren’t allowed to include such information.

Disappointing
Disappointed. Room was not very clean on arrival, carpet and skirting board particularly bad. Arrived back on second evening to find the room had not been refreshed. Came for a wedding and wanted to hang clothes but only 2 coathangers. Poorest breakfast we have had for a long time.

1 unhelpful staff member/manager ruined the stay
Pleasant enough place very clean but music being played in the late evening out of nowhere was disturbing. The attitude of the staff when we came down for breakfast was very annoying though.. We had missed the breakfast session. I'm pretty sure we were told the wrong time but even assuming we weren't there was no suggestion of anywhere else to go or even pleasantness from the staff member who was more worried about a wedding later that day. We were unable to leave our bags whilst visiting a nearby attraction for the same reason. Fair enough the rooms would be used but in a place of this size I would have thought an alternative small stowage place could have been arranged. VERY unhelpful and since this was a scouting visit for training courses I run nearby that I require accommodation for groups for potentially a costly mistake for the inn as I will never return thanks to the attitude of 1. Bar staff I should add, were lovely.

Lovely hotel and pub
I had a lovely stay in a double room, the bed was very comfy, my room was nice and warm and the people at the sparkford were friendly. The breakfast was a great start to the day.

Room not cleaned
arrived at the hotel a bit early and was told it was not possible to check in early, which is normal after a busy Friday night, so no problem there. But, after waiting many hours so they can clean the room once we went into the room it had not been cleaned at all. very disappointing.

Lovely Hotel close to wedding reception venue.
Came for a local wedding and reception at the Haynes motor museum ( 1/4 mile from hotel). Booked late and in haste so didn't really do my research but on arrival was greeted by very nice owners and allowed in early to change for wedding. My room was actually a lovely suite and fitted out very nicely. Included full english breakfast was very welcome with post wedding fluffy head! Lovely character pub and hotel.

Ok for overnight stopover
Ok for short term stopover, wouldn't recommend as holiday accommodation but in spite of its basic and tired condition, it's clean and provides a reasonable breakfast.

Two day stopover in somerset
Good basic pub food lovely home made sweets was a bonus. Room was clean and warm although being on the road expect some traffic noise. Easy book in and breakfast was what you wanted but full English was always available. We enjoyed our stay and will consider returning at a later date.

Hotel is located near to local attractions. Staff were very welcoming and friendly, food was good and the room was clean and comfortable.

Best not to bother
Hotel ok as far as cleanliness but rooms were cold. Breakfast advertised for 8am but the cook doesn't arrive until 8 so it's really around 8.40. Not very well run at all, couldn't wait for breakfast so no idea if it was any good.
