It's our 2nd visit to this hotel, stayed for 4 nights. Its just outside the centre ( think probably 1.5 miles) . Bus service No 4 every 15 minutes or so outside Cross Keys pub into city so can leave car at hotel where there is lots of free parking but remember to log your car reg in the hotel as it is monitored by a parking company . Rooms were lovely and clean. Breakfast good, lovely lounge. Staff all very pleasant.

Staff especially Ruby was always very helpful. We were there three nights on Dinner/bed/breakfast deal but dinner menu never changed unfortunately. Breakfast great selection only porridge missing. Bathroom extremely small.

Very convenient for us being near to family. Car parking was good. Safe provided but no fridge. Breakfast vg. We were there for 2 days and staff just changed the towels for the second day. The used coffee cups were not replaced and beds unmade.

Staff were friendly and informative on arrival and check in was quick and simple. Stayed in a double room which had tea and coffee available, no biscuits though. Good size desk for working on, with plenty of sockets in the room including USB points as well as more socket/USB by the bed. wifi had very good signal and easy to connect to. Iron, ironing board and hair dryer also in the room. Shower was powerful and hot with soap/shampoo available, although it was a compact area with little space. A Buffet Breakfast was offered, which had a good selection of items, but as seems to be normal these days, the temperature was warm rather than hot for the food. Parking available and free which is always a bonus, just need to make sure you enter your car reg on the iPad in reception. Overall good value for the facilities but could do with a bit of an upgrade/refurb in communal areas.

Great stay for the horse racing. Check in was abit slow. Car park is a good size (round the back). Rooms are fine and clean. Hotel looks abit grubby on the outside but nice inside. Plenty towels bed was comfortable. Food is lovely but tables could get cleared and cleaned more regularly. Air con in the rooms is pretty poor.

A good stay in a hotel that is well positioned for a visit to York, located adjacent to the horse racing course. Excellent, well-cooked breakfast. Downsides of the stay were a top floor room that was inordinately hot and the air-conditioning couldn't cope with reducing the temperature, plus the greeting at check-in was rather indifferent and lacked any sincere welcome.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Location is good with good parking. Rooms are clean and well equiped. Step up into walking shower - much better than shower/bath combination. Rooms are a good size although they need a refresh and maintenance. Rooms doors locks look like theyve recently been changed - doors need repainting - not a goid first impression. Apart from maintenance thiss is a warm and friendly hotel.
