Really nice stay - modern trendy room with a turntable and four poster bed - lovely pantry room and a really cool bar with a working model train - very friendly nice service in the bar - one word of caution is that we did get blocked in in the car park!

A lovely place to stay, with charming touches

I enjoyed my stay - the hotel staff were fantastic, and the massage I booked was out of this world! My room was less than spacious, though the ceiling was very high which helped it feel bigger (and the four poster bed was fab). I loved the help-yourself pantry, and the skin and hair products were lovely.

We absolutely loved our stay at No. 1! The hotel is beautiful, warm, and inviting. The rooms were clean and cozy. The staff were very kind and accommodating. We also enjoyed the spa and restaurant (Pearly Cow). We weren’t informed about the pantry when we checked in, so make sure you ask about it if you stay.

The location of the property is a 15 min walk from train station and a 10 min walk into town. Very accessible. Quiet and safe surroundings. The main positive of this hotel is the staff - friendly, polite and knowledgeable. Great bartenders and a lovely room to sit and drink. I would recommend the restaurant - food was great. Def a place I would stay at next time I’m in York.
