"We had an overnight layover and this hotel turned out to be a great choice to rest and recharge. The room was clean, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the bar stayed open late with food options available. They also offer airport transportation at a reasonable price, which was very convenient. I would definitely stay here again if the need arises."

"My husband & I had to travel from the other end of the country to visit an elderly relative in the nearby hospital, and needed a reasonably-priced last-minute room for 2 nights. This fitted the bill perfectly, and I knew we'd made the right choice when I spoke to the Manager. What a lovely guy: friendly, honest, helpful, straightforward, and so easy to deal with. "Our stay at acorn lodge was wonderful! Just what we needed after a long day of travelling. Super speedy check in even at midnight! Bed was comfy, shower was powerful. Breakfast was fab, lots of choice and really tasty. "

"I was nervous to stay here, given previous poor reviews but actually I think they were far too harsh. This is an old, period property with wooden beamed ceilings and wonky walls! So it’s not modern and would benefit from new carpets etc. But it’s clean and quiet and perfectly adequate for the price. I would stay again if in the area. "

"Loved this little b&b. Area is walkable, lots of shops, restaurants and things to do. Close to the water and about a 20 min walk from the train station. Floor is definitely slanted but other than that this place is wonderful. It’s fairly quiet, has a window, a fridge and a small but not too small shower. The cable didn’t work but the staff tried to fix it for us. Check in was friendly and accommodating. "
