"Excellent breakfast in a lovely dining room. Communal areas all well presented. However the bedroom could do with a bit of TLC, along with the staff being reminded how to make beds and ensure bedding is free from stains. The single beds (2 out of the 3) had mattress visible under the pillow I.e.the sheets weren't to the top of the bed"

"We had a suite at the hotel, it was very roomy, full of character and access to a superior breakfast! All well worth the money. Staff were friendly and very helpful too.
The only grumble we had, we asked for a fan and there were non available. I've not made this impact the overall stay rating as the weather was unusually extremely hot so the same request had probably came from all rooms - i would say the hotel should have invested in more fans in preparation for the heat wave that week.

"Ideal location for us, just a short 10-min walk to the town centre.
Our room was spacious and bathroom appeared recently renovated.
Staff were very friendly and helpful.
As it is a very old building, the floorboards were a bit creaky and woodwork (skirting boards, window frames, architraves) looked tired with their years of layered paint, but we had a comfortable stay.
The free parking was a bonus."

"Management didn't think about the impact of the hot weather as the room was so hot and they supplied a tiny fan that did nothing to cool the room. Lots of spots in the hotel needs updating or repairing. Both the staff and the leisure amenities were great."

"On entry to the property it was shabby and untidy but that was nothing compared to the room we were given. Room 5 is large with both a double and single bed. . Bed linen was clean. One throw over the single bed was stained as was one cushion and the half hanging curtains. There was dust on both the black headboards of the beds. Thick dust on the skirting boards.
