"First time staying at a Holiday Inn but can thoroughly recommend this one in Portsmouth. Only staying overnight before getting the ferry but wished we could stay longer. Managed to do some shopping at Gun Wharf & enjoy the surrounding area. All within easy reach to hotel. "

"The hotel was really nice and the staff were very helpful. We were able to check in early as our room was ready and we were able to leave our bags at the hotel after checking out so we could go round the town. The room was very nice, although the fridge wasn't very cold and one of the mattresses was very soft, a bit like a water bed but I slept ok. Breakfast was amazing! "This is our second visit this year. Love the bed and having a balcony view our dog loves the hotel also. Car park is really secure and after checking out we could leave our car for a bit extra charge to visit the beach. Our meal was really good Staff at the hotel are all excellent they make you feel special. Definitely going back "

"Loved this hotel. The location was great. The price was good. The staff was friendly. And it was clean, they took care of us. I would 100% stay here again. I would say there should be some upgrades made to the tv to be bigger, a more comfortable mattress, and if there was a way to make the floors less squeaky that’d be great. But overall it was a great stay. "

"We had a warm welcome on arrival. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The situation of the hotel is perfect for walking into the town with excellent restaurants to choose from. We booked a snug double room which in itself was fine, however, we visited during a heatwave and found the room far too warm (even with the fan provided) and the bed a little on the small side. Having said that we found the decor and cleanliness perfect. "

"Would def stay again. Note that there is no AC in this hotel. They do provide a fan but it was quite warm even with. Kudos for doing their best given the heat. Stayed here for one night prior to cruising — can walk to cruise ship from hotel no problem. Lots of things to in the area. Very close to Southampton central station as well. "
