"I’m a bit of a hotel snob and was a bit worried about staying here on our 3 night trip to Porto. To say I was pleasantly surprised is an understatement. I had read the reviews and had it in my mind it was going to be a run down, old hotel - but that wasn’t the case at all. The hotel is old but very well maintained. "The room was spacious and comfortable. Huge shower. The spa is relaxing. A great bonus after walking the hills of Porto for 3 days. Breakfast is everything you can want and more with excellent service. The bar was great for a nightcap. Food looked great, but we went elsewhere."

"Definitely a five star hotel. They have everything you would need for a perfect day. The staff was super helpful. There was a winery right next-door. There were nice restaurants everywhere. There were gondolas that were cool. This hotel is on the top of the hill so get your walking shoes on and let’s go. Porto is a good size town with lots to do. Wine tasting is amazing. Food was great.The Gastronomic Restaurant was amazing,a must but get your wallet out"

"I very much enjoyed staying at the hotel, it was in a convenient location and the staff was excellent. I would say the only downside was the toilet and shower stalls. Both of the stalls have glass doors, which are see through and do not close securely. If you’re staying by yourself it’s fine but if you’re sharing a room, you have next to no privacy. I would not choose it again if I was sharing."
