"The staff are unbelievable and attentive. By far the most welcoming staff we encountered in two weeks of travelling through Western Norway. Breakfast has personal options and a great spread. "Laerdal hotel is gem between Oslo and Bergen. The fjord views from my balcony were absolutely breathtaking. I enjoyed having a spacious room with a roomy bathroom. The location is very peaceful and everything we needed for our over night stay was in walking distance. The staff was were friendly and spoke English fluently. "Only complaint is the shower design. The shower doors hit either the toilet on one side or the sink on the other side. There is also no shelf to rest a razor or shaving cream, etc. The bathroom is not too small—just poorly designed to utilize the space."

"It is too small a place. Stated it is good for 3 people but it is not. Parking of course is a problem everywhere in Norway, can’t fault the apartment for that."

I would have expected at least a phone call before this happening. We had to stay in another room and move to the room we had booked the following day, with two kids. "Excellent hotel. Everything was spotless, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast had plenty of choices, the afternoon tea was a lovely bonus, and the dinner was excellent. I also enjoyed the steam room and the beautiful lobby. The location is perfect, with a convenience store right downstairs, close to the bus station, an airport bus stop nearby, and Bryggen just steps away. Highly recommended!"

"The Breakfast is excellent. Many choices. We really enjoyed. The Top restaurant has fantastic view. The friendly staff let us took photos even the place will not open for guests that night. The location is so convenient to take public transportation. Several minutes walk to train station. Highly recommend!"

"I booked this stay last minute and immediately tried to cancel it but Bergen Guesthouse does not accept cancellations. The property is close to the city center, inexpensive and newly - in progress - renovated. However, the walls are paper thin, the rooms lack comfort (our window didn’t close properly, only a ceiling light, no bedside lights, the power outlets didn’t work properly, no TV, no mirror). One full bath and one out of order bathroom to share between 4 rooms on the level we stayed....

"The room was clean. There was no hot water in the morning. Something in the bathroom (hot water heater??) was leaking. When had the shower running to try and get hot water, it leaked out of the stall. Soap dispenser was basically empty. Location has conveniences but was a little less than safe feeling. Bad smell in the hallway of our floor. Would not stay again."

"This is an amazing hotel. It’s massive. We had a huge room with a view of the farms and fjords from 3 vantage points and the biggest shower in Norway. The staff was great. The only negative was the restaurant. The food was pricey but not great."
