"Wayne and Sue were wonderful hosts and the flat was in a convenient serene location with great views! However, the listing on hotels.com says it is an entire home and despite clarifying with their agents they said this is an independent cottage. This is not the first time they mislead us. The accommodation was good and the hosts were great but the details on hotels.com is not accurate. If you are expecting a while cottage you’ll be disappointed. "

"Accomodation was perfect. A hidden gem. Sunday Roast is amazing. Breakfast freshly cooked to order. Will definitely use the Coach & Horses at Rosugeon again. "

"The rooms in the pub are underwhelming, noisy, need maintenance (our bathroom had the light and loo roll holder hanging off the wall) and expensive for what you get. Food at the pub is also not great. The staff were friendly and the music good. Probably wouldn’t chose here again or would go in a garden pod."

"Absolutely beautiful family set of rooms, stunning view of St Michael’s Mount, w causeway right outside. Unfortunately, windows covered w scaffolding and workmen starting on our 2nd day, making bathroom without curtains unusable. Reception unhelpful (blamed property company) until the last day of our complaining when they offered a small discount on our stay (but still didn’t cover window). Although we received notice a week or two before our stay that this was happening, that doesn’t really ...

"Darren at reception was really lovely, the lady who served us breakfast in the morning was very lovely and accommodating. The hotel dog ran up to us barking as we were leaving, which was a bit alarming. The bedroom was simple and clean. Unfortunately the hotel has an awful smell, even in the bedrooms, like damp or mouldy carpets. A bee was in our room, luckily my husband was able to get it out. I appreciate it is an old historic building, but a deep clean and refresh of the carpets might help."

"The Old Post House was exactly as we had envisaged. Full of character, perfectly positioned over the harbour and very comfortable. Shelley helpfully gave us all the information we needed and left us to it. Parking would have been a challenge had we not been the only ones staying, but there was room in the village. In high season it could be an issue, given the small size of the place. A great place to stay and highly recommended."

"The hosts were lovely. Clean, safe, comfortable, good common area includes fridge, glasses, plates & cutlery. Delicious breakfasts with a view of the colourful boat harbour. The pub in Mousehole (5 min walk) was good. Parking is a short distance away but make sure you have cell / text service to use the parking app in case the only machine in the lot isn't working as the next lot is 2 miles away! Would stay here again!!!"

That said, for a hotel of this calibre, we did notice a few areas where the experience fell short of expectations. Small touches — like having the tea tray refreshed without needing to ask — are the kind of details that elevate a stay, and we found ourselves having to prompt for these. "Such a wonderful property, and the rooms are so very clean and comfortable. We slept so well, and were treated quite nicely. Kate is such a lovely host, and her brekkie is top-notch. We enjoyed chatting with her as we ate, and found her delightful and helpful. The farm setting is so peaceful (for us guest that is, a lot of hard work for owners), and the location is great for visiting the Lizard and other places around south Cornwall. Thank you much for such a great stay!"

"Spacious and clean room, the staff was lovely. The breakfast is very good and the inn is in a good place to visit the area (bus station and train station in front of the inn). Parking is easy too."
