Lovely bedroom and bathroom. We were very warm and comfortable. Would suggest install a small handrail when going up the two steps into the bathroom would be a great help for the less able bodied. Really enjoyed being there and hope to return.

Really enjoyed our stay, food and room were great and the staff were very friendly. Room was a little small, but it was comfortable and well decorated. The radio being on when we arrived was a nice touch

Room was a bit noisy

I have stayed at this hotel before(different room), the room itself is lovely that we stayed in, however it was very nice in the early ours of the morning, we heard delivery van on the gravel car park, with people talking at 5am like it was 5pm and then further noise and talking continued from the kitchen staff, as the door to the kitchen was immediately below or bedroom window. It is on the pricier end to stay here, due to not much other choice in the village, I do not feel the price justifies the room, you do not get anything extra compared to rooms at half the price. We love the location though and that is why we stayed, great walking routes nearby and a really nice and quiet village to stay in.

A fantastic little hotel, the pictures online I believe don’t do it justice. We stayed in the Magpie room which was a little compact BUT it’s at the top floor on its own out of the way. It’s so lovey and quiet with no doors slamming or other guests walking past, fabulous! Room itself was cosy and clean with a lovely view from the window over the village. Breakfast was great too with a good choice from the menu if you wanted something other than a full English. The only fault I had was with how hot the room was but in a period property, in a loft room, during a heatwave there really isn’t much that could have been done. The hotel did provide an electric fan. The village itself is beautiful, there are a few little shops and bars and a lovely river walk which takes around 40minutes in to Bakewell. Would recommend.

Lovely nights stay at the Ashford Arms. Comfortable rooms and excellent restaurant serving fabulous food. Nice to have a breakfast menu as opposed to a buffet. Great location in quiet village close to Bakewell. Would stay again if back in Derbyshire.

An excellent hotel clean and inviting. The staff were so friendly and helpful nothing was to much trouble. The food was superb with an excellent choice of gluten free items. Can’t wait to return. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Delightful and delicious!

Fantastic, friendly and accommodating staff - food and service. Seriously the best lime and soda :), something so simple and yet… I have an adventurous palate, so was delighted to try a new taste sensation in the Brazilian cheese bread. The Bakewell dessert did not disappoint, was beyond expectation and ample for two spoons! Thank you. Photographic stroll over the bridge just behind the hotel - 100 metre walk.

Absolute gem

Stay was very good and the situation of the hotel is excellent. Staff were all very friendly and the Breakfast was exceptionally good. One downside is the room we stayed in was quite small which was ok for one night but would not have liked to stay there for too many nights in that room. Would definitely return but would go for a different room type.
