"Please be aware that leaving your bags at the cloak costs you $5 per bag & no cash!!! This is a historical establishment & there are so many old charms all over the hotel. If you are into history, check out Lower Lobby before the gym. They have so many pictures from the past. It was fun. Some rooms are getting renovated & I “upgraded” to a newly renovated room. I didn’t request, but I got “city view” room & I could see Staples from the window. Also it was very noisy. I used earplugs every night. Great location right next to Penn station. "

"The staff at this hotel were amazing. Staff helped us with whatever was needed. The hotel is well cared for & inviting. The staff at the marketplace were not very accommodating & prices were super high for what was purchased. The room was great & the housekeeping staff provided many things we needed. However, after two of the 4 night stay, we didn’t receive a room cleaning or weren’t asked about it. Weird. The location is exceptional & made traveling the city very convenient. "

"Pod 51 is in a good, safe location with easy access to restaurants, midtown, and transportation. The rooms are tiny (really tiny, you can barely move in the bathroom) and the night I stayed there was a large bag of empty bottles in the hallway. Whatever cleaner they use is so strongly scented I had to open both windows to get it out. But the staff is very friendly and helpful. Fine for a night or two."
