Good stay

It’s been good because of its location which is very close to the beach. Very nice staff too . The only downside is the room being too warm as the windows were open a bit and we couldn’t sleep properly although there were two fans . It would have been better if there was an air conditioning.

Dated but nice!

The hotel was very dated but comfortable and we were upgraded to a suite which was lovely. Didnt dine in but the restaurant was busy. Also a nice walk to the fantastic beach.

Heathlands Hotel

The Heathlands is a reasonable budget option. Its location is good, and the staff seem friendly. It could do with investment though, as the furnishings are tired. Note that the rooms don't have air conditioning. That isn't a problem 95% of the time in the UK, but if you catch a heatwave as I did, you'll be trying to sleep in an oven.

I booked an Executive twin room which was spacious, bright with a partial sea view. There were two wardrobes with an iron but no safe. The beds were very comfortable and the hotel was in a quiet location so I slept well. There were no sockets by the beds for charging mobiles overnight. No room cleaning service was offered during my 4 nights stay, not even at an extra cost although I could request clean towels, linen and cups. The bathroom only offered liquid soap dispensers, not separate body wash, shampoo and conditioner. The bath plug had to be removed the next day with pliars so I had two morning showers standing in cold bathwater. Overall the room was comfortable but not of executive level. The reception staff were helpful. I did not have breakfast or use the bar. Parking cost £5 per night.

Quiet location, with town in a walkable distance. Room good, however had to ask for a travel cot for room for little one, it wasn’t set up and didn’t have any bedding for him. Car parks quite tight however easy enough to find and staff very friendly.

A pleasant stay

The room was comfortable and very clean. Overall I enjoyed my stay and only gave it a 4 star because renovations were taking place and food was unavailable. Location very good. Staff friendly and helpful

Hotel staff were nice and location is good. We requested a double room with double bed and got 2 single beds with 2 single mattresses pushed together. They were Rock hard and sleep was very limited. The bath had hair in when we arrived and the water pressure was awful so we avoided showering until we returned home (luckily we were only there 1 night) The whole place looked dated and tired and the lack of sleep meant we wouldn’t return. However O Neil’s bar a 10minute walk away does an AMAZONG happy hour!!
