"We have stayed at Torel for two nights in July. This was a to celebrate special occasion and it was worth it. The hotel is on hills where the Douro (Port) wine grapes are cultivated and it has a beautiful view of this world heritage site. The room is very comfortable.
The hotel has two restaurants. Both are good but the smaller one (Schisto) is a really good (soon to be)Michelin star restaurant. Really worth the experience.

"The property is so tranquil and relaxing with beautiful views of the valley & river. The hosts Paul & Valeria made us feel so welcome. Very friendly and helpful with all our needs. With only 4 rooms currently, the place is intimate and at times all to yourself. Beautiful infinity pool, wood burning hot tub & sauna all with outstanding views. I would love to return when everything is in bloom. Highly recommend Quinta de Raj!! "

"This hotel is truly authentic, with rooms that are both very clean and uniquely designed. It’s centrally located, making it easy to explore, and the surrounding area is absolutely gorgeous. The stay was extremely comfortable, with everything you could possibly need thoughtfully provided. The toiletries were excellent, and even fresh water was left for a nightcap. A wonderful experience overall!"

"Staff at the hotel were superb.. I read some of the comments about five star hotel in previous reviews while the hotel itself may not be a five-star the staff and the service is easily five-star… I laugh at some of the comments…. if you want little slippers and matching housecoat, look like a prince and princess, then go to Palace… the meals were suburban with the first class chef from Brazil… when I came to the restaurant bar you couldn’t want more for service and quality…. awesome place for...
