This is a lovely little B&B that is very comfortable and the hosts are just wonderful - made us feel very welcome and at home! Very pleasant stay, would thoroughly recommend.
Stayed here for a wedding. The hosts were truly amazing and made me feel so welcome and cared for. The BnB is absolutely gorgeous, the breakfast was delicious and the coffee was out of this world! Honestly the best bnb I've ever stayed at, hands down.
Huge thank you to Caroline and her husband for being so wonderful x
Lovely couple that are very accommodating. Room clean and bathroom facilities good. Lovely town in beautiful countryside. Very much like being a guest staying with a friend.
Extremely warm welcome and an offer of tea and flapjacks on arrival was lovely. Caroline and David were very charming and booked me into a great restaurant locally for dinner. The fabulous breakfast was absolutely delicious - I thoroughly recommend!
We stayed for our anniversary. Caroline and Mark are excellent hosts. A bottle of cava was waiting in the room to celebrate. Caroline called before we arrived to ask if we needed any help with booking restaurants and to explain the best route. On arrival we were helped with our baggage, and then had a cup of tea and home made flap jacks with our hosts in the living room. We were given a warm welcome, advised on interesting places to see. The room was very well equipped but perhaps a little small on first view, but it was practical and had an extremely comfortable bed. Breakfast was also very generous and included home made compotes and locally sourced organic ingredients for the cooked part. We certainly didn't need lunch. The house is very well placed for the centre of Bruton and for the Hauser and Werth gallery which had a superb contemporary exhibition and the uber trendy, if somewhat pretentious, Roths Bar and grill with branches in New York and Bruton (go figure!). All in all I would recommend the Turks Head as a very pleasant B&B.
Just one warning, the staircases are rather narrow (it is, after all a family home) and there are steps up to the front door and this could be difficult for someone with mobility issues.
The owners made us feel very welcome right from the start, and on our arrival offered us a glass of wine, a beer, or a cup of tea. Our room was en-suite, with a lovely shower, and very comfortable with everything we needed including a bottle of sherry. We stayed for three nights and slept well, though trains do occasionally pass nearbye.
Breakfast was spectacular, starting with grapefruit, then cereals, yogurt (homemade), lovely prunes in orange, and then cooked including really nice sausages etc. We couldn't have asked for more. But on the last day we did get more, when we were offered smoked salmon and scrambled egg. Delicious!
We will certainly be returning, and would recommend Turk's Hall.
