"When we arrived on a Saturday late afternoon, it was like entering a nightclub. There was a wedding with an open DJ above the bar area. It was so loud you couldn’t easily hear the staff. When in our room, the music was booming through. We asked to move to another room and they were able to facilitate this. Staff were polite and helpful. The room itself was good; a small but functional bathroom, very comfy bed and good blackout blinds. The window needed a lot of adjustment to close it which took a long time but eventually was shut. Nice to have windows that actually open though. Breakfast was as expected. Quite a good range of food but juices were sub standard, more like a weak squash than a juice. Overall, we slept fairly well and the room was fine but entering a hotel and feeling like you were in a club meant we didn’t want to have a drink at the bar or stay downstairs at all. This may have been a very different experience on a different day. "

"Once you ignore the hotel entrance from the street which is underneath an ugly car park the foyer is attractive and smells wonderful. Staff were helpful and friendly. Room was big and clean. Good location for exploring Chester. "

"Dusty room issues with grout , tablet on floor ? Extension lead faulty noisy cistern noisy air ductwork… during night .generally old fittings. Request renovated room . Most staff are ok . Breakfast good and brasserie still nice ."

"I booked an upgraded room which stated that it had ‘shower only’. This seems great to me because I hate showering after stepping into a bath. I was allocated my room which was nothing special, just a little bigger than a standard room I’m guessing. I checked the bathroom…the dreaded bath with the shower over the top was present. My worst nightmare. The room and bathroom was tired and in need of an upgrade. I was also promised a king sized bed but instead I got 2 singles pushed together resulting in 2 sides of the bed being different levels of firm/soft. Not what I expected from an upgraded room to be honest. Basis at best"

"Great location and proximity to shopping, eating and drinking. Great team in reception and the bar area, nothing was too much trouble for anyone, big smiles and laughs from everyone. Really unique quirky room that was comfortable and had everything you could possibly need. We’ll definitely be back."

"Room 430 - whilst the bedroom was lovely and generous and clean - the bathroom was small and frustrating. Nowhere to put toiletries, nowhere to hang towels. Handbasin was small and you could not bend forward when cleaning teeth as you’d hit your head on the glass shelf. Shower cubicle was very very small indeed and the controls for the shower was a large bulging control that ate into that space - cubicle was so small you kept hitting your elbows on the wall or shower screen. Overall the hotel is excellent but this bathroom let it down badly."

"Is a really lovely hotel. Rebecca cleaned our room really well and front desk on Saturday and Sunday morning was really helpful. We would definitely recommend staying and will be returning. "

"I was travelling with a mate on our way to a track day. The staff were all very polite, happy and friendly. The room was fine, just lacking maybe a few USB ports. Good kettle, tea and coffee. Some other lads used the pool and liked it. Food was very good, we were in around 18.30 to eat and the food was only 10mins to come. Beds were ok and i slept well. While there are closer hotels to Oulton Park this is one we may choose again."
