"This stay at the Lodge Red hook was a bright spot at a very frustrating time in the city. Because of the NBA Finals and the World Cup the city was way overcrowded. "Solid little hotel and a great option for south Brooklyn (there aren't many). The staff is very nice and helpful. The bed was very comfortable and the bedding and towels were soft. These comforts go a long way when you're traveling and some high end hotels don't get that right. Easy to walk, train or rideshare to nearby Park Slope, Gowanus, downtown BK and into Manhattan. "Its a descent place if you want to travel the next day. But not a family place. Cabin crew members from Newark airport frequent here. Breakfast is very good but no variety. I didn't like that you have to travel down to the lobby to heat your food in a common universal microwave. And there is no table next to the microwave. the rooms are supper tinny. Also notice that "self parking" means $22 dollars a night for your car."
